Описание

Product description: Step-Up Voltage Regulator U3V40F6 - 6 V 4 A - Pololu 4013

A small size Pololu step-up conver ter module with 6 V output voltage and 4 A current capacity. The inverter input voltage ranges from 1.3 V to 6 V (the start-up voltage is 2.7 V). Typical inverter efficiency ranges from 90% to 95%, depending on input voltage and load. It is equipped with temperature protection, when the temperature threshold is exceeded, the module will shut down.

Step-up converter pinouts 6 V / 4 A.
Leads of the step-up converter module

The board has four leads in the form of six holes for soldering connectors with a raster of 2.54 mm.

  • EN - pin to disable the system when the voltage is below 0.4 V, system on by default: 30 kΩ resistor pulled up from EN to VIN.
  • VIN - input voltage from 2.7 V to 6 V (after starting up the chip, the input voltage may be at least 1.3 V).
  • GND - system ground (common for VIN and VOUT).
  • VOUT - output voltage 9 V.
Dangerous voltage pulses

While connecting power supply to the module, dangerous, short eclectic impulses with large amplitude (so-called pins) may occur, which can permanently damage the system. Pololu company has performed tests which show that for input voltage above 11 V pins can have amplitude large enough to damage the module. To prevent this undesirable phenomenon it is recommended to solder a capacitor of at least 33 uF as close as possible to the pins supplying the converter.

System efficiency

Efficiency is defined as the ratio of output power to input power (power out)/(power in). This is a very important parameter when working with portable power sources. (Batteries and rechargeable batteries), where the working time on a single charge cycle matters. The efficiency of this circuit is between 90% and 95%. The output current is dependent on the input voltage and the system load.
