Transceiver Breakout MAX3232 3,3V/5V - RS232 - UART converter - SparkFun BOB-11189

Manufactured by company SparkFun company's product fulfils the function of RS232 radio transmitter-receiver. The chip is based on the popular MAX3232 converter, which converts low voltage logic signals sent to / from the minicomputer's UART interface from / to voltage standard and polarity compliant signals. The MAX3232-compatible SP3232 chip module is a voltage level converter that allows digital systems operating with voltages between 3.3 V and 5 V to achieve the voltage levels required for serial RS232 standard transmission.

Transceiver Breakout from Sparkfun successfully converts TTL serial output signal to RS232 signal and vice versa. It allows for example to connect devices using RS232 to minicomputers like Arduino or Raspberry Pi (which have UART interface).
