The fragrance opens this modern classic with an iridescent burst of white jasmine and magnolia that shimmer atop vivid-yellow Bulgarian roses and honeyed wisteria. Gently spiced nutmeg catches the light and segues effortlessly into the floral lustre of carnation and lily of the valley. Benzoin sharpens the senses before a translucent vanilla slides into the glazed base of golden amber, patchouli and a luminous white musk. Coloured by tiny amounts of nitrogen trapped in the carbon molecules, The Cora was formed between 1 and 3 billion years ago and was discovered in South Africa in 2010. It was sold in 2011 at an auction in Geneva for almost £7 million to an anonymous buyer.
