Ready, set, send. This next generation of our award-winning Smith Forefront mountain bike helmet has your back (and front, and sides) thanks to MIPS® and complete Koroyd® impact protection. Designed to work with goggles or sunglasses, the helmet vents warm air, eliminating foggy lenses so you´ll feel confident even if your line of sight is less than ideal. And when your palms start to sweat right before you drop in, you´ll stay cool thanks to a full 20 vents that keep the air flowing. The visor adjusts for easy goggle storage between laps, and you can slide your glasses for secure storage on the front or back. Our helmets are designed to match the curvature of the goggle frame, eliminating ´´gaper gap´´ and allowing precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac and the goggle venting systems. - Maximum airflow: Goggles fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. Smith´s AirEvac ventilation systems generate maximum airflow and pull warm, fog-causing air out of the goggle. The warm air is allowed to exhaust out of the top of the goggle and begin its path through the helmet´s AirEvac system. - Rear exhaust ventilation: The warm air that originally built up in the goggle has been forced out via the AirEvac ventilation system, has traveled through the AirEvac 2 EPS vent channels, and is now being exhausted at the furthest distance possible from the goggle. Ultimate integration between goggle and helmet from start to finish. - Maximize ventilation: The well ventilated, KoroydN panels ensure consistent, engineered airflow whether riding or stationary. In addition, the Smith helmets features internal air channels that combine with open intake and exhaust ports to maximize ventilation. Mips: Mips® is a brain protection system - engineered to add protection to helmets - The MIPS® Brain Protection System (BPS) is found inside the helmet, generally between the comfort padding and the EPS (a high-quality foam used to reduce energy). For certain impacts, the MIPS® BPS can reduce harmful forces transmitted to the brain. MIPS® stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. Koroyd®: - Koroyd® absorbs more energy on impact, offers better design flexibility and guarantees more efficient ventilation compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. The cylinders form a crumple zone and collapse evenly on impact. Thus, Koroyd® absorbs energy more efficiently and with less bulk than other protective materials on the market. Unlike traditional protective materials, Koroyd® cylinders absorb and convert more kinetic energy, while increasing airflow and reducing overall weight. Not all helmets are created equal Developed in the aerospace industry to absorb energy, cylindrical structures are one of the strongest forms found in nature; a form that could offer the most effective impact absorption for a given duration. Koroyd® uses cylinders to create a structure that behaves differently from traditional protective materials. Traditional materials act like a spring that stores energy and then releases it, while Koroyd® is a true energy absorber that converts kinetic energy by crushing. This results in better energy absorption in the event of an impact. - High-tech absorption: In the event of an impact, Koroyd´s welded tubes collapse instantly and evenly, absorbing maximum force in a controlled manner and thus reducing the amount of energy transferred to the head. - High tech protection: The air circulates evenly through the open cells, while the warm air in your head can easily escape, ensuring more efficient cooling under the most intense conditions. - Total breathability: Characterized by tubes with the thinnest walls in the world, the Koroyd structure is composed of 95% air. This reduces weight and improves comfort without compromising safety.
