Описание

Product description: DFRobot Gravity - Geiger counter, ionizing radiation sensor - DFRobot SEN0463

Ionizing radiation is an invisible and intangible enemy that exists not only in the reactors of nuclear power plants. In fact, we are constantly bombarded with radiation from the environment and space around us, but our body is able to resist natural radiation. With the use of a Geiger counter, it is possible to detect ionizing radiation in the surrounding environment. The DFRobot module from the Gravity series is based on a Geiger M4011 meter lamp , which supports voltages from 380 V to 450 V, measures the background of approx. 25 CPM with a coefficient of 153.8 CPM / (μSv / h) . The module is supplied with the voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V. The maximum measuring range is up to 1200 μSv / h (theoretically). There is a digital signal at the output, it goes low when a pulse is detected.

DFRobot Gravity - Geiger counter, ionizing radiation sensor - DFRobot SEN0463.
Geiger counter lamp M4011.
What is a Geiger counter for?

Geiger counter helps to detect ionizing radiation such as nuclear, X-ray, cosmic radiation, etc. But it cannot detect electromagnetic radiation such as microwave oven, cell phone, WiFi, induction cooker radiation. Moreover, the Geiger counter is a good random number generator , and the indefinite collisions of high energy ionized particles can provide random entropy, in order to obtain a true random number, not a constant random sequence based on the random number algorithm.

Warning! This product is not intended for professional measurement, it is only suitable for basic research and lesson demonstrations. It should not be used to measure a radiation dose that directly affects personal safety.
