The Urban Taraxagum by Continental is the first serial bicycle tyre made from dandelion rubber, for which we established the brand mark Taraxagum™. The project is embedded in a comprehensive sustainability strategy, covering economic, ecological and social aspects. Through significantly shorter distances from the fields and our European tyre plants, we reduce efforts in logistics and transport and use resources more efficiently.Another important contribution to sustainability –in series. Features: - The first pilot series was produced in 2018 and presented at Eurobike - In 2019 the first serial bicycle tyre with a tread made out of dandelion rubber was produced - The tyre has a very well balanced overall performance (puncture resistance, wear, grip androlling resistance are considered) - The tyre gets a unique design (tread pattern reflects the cell structure of an plant cell; dandelionseeds are in shoulder and sidewall area) - The tyres bears our unique TARAXAGUM logo with is trademark protected in all relevant countries.
