Product description: RGB colour sensor TCS3472 - Unit extension module for M5Stack development modules

Unit-extension forM5Stackbase modules. IntegratedRGB colour sensorequipped withTCS3472. It detects the color of the element and sends it to the main host in the form of processed figures. Modulecommunicates with the developer module via anI2Cinterface.Grovecables are used to connect the extension to the main modules. A dedicated connection cable is included.

The sensor uses diodes and analogue-to-digital converter.

Sensor principle

TheTCS3472Control Module has a built-in 16-bitanalog-to-digital converterand 12 filtered photodiodes of specification: 3LEDswithredfilter, 3 LEDs withgreenfilter, 3 LEDs withbluefilter and 3transparentLEDs. When detecting the colour of element, module returns data from four channels: red (R), green (G), blue (B) and unfiltered transparent (C). Results from individual RGB channels are used to determine chromatic coordinates(x,y) of the colour source. For details on colour processing, see the manufacturer'suser guide.
