Circuit PlaygroundExpress is an enhanced version of Circuit Playground Classic. It features visual programming with Microsoft makeCode. Additionally, the built-in Python interpreter allows you to use CircuitPython. The board can also be programmed in the way known from its predecessor via Arduino IDE. This allows for a lot of coding freedom.

Circuit Playground Express Base Kit from Adafruit is a development board, which you can use in various electronic projects. This model can be programmed using Arduino IDE, Python or Microsoft makeCode.
On the board there are many additional modules, which enable even wider use. You'll find a phototransistor, microphone, thermistor, accelerometer or speaker, as well as buttons, colored LEDs, an infrared receiver and transmitter, and a slide switch, among others.
