Product description: BME688 - 4in1 environmental sensor - AI module - I2C / SPI - Waveshare 24244

The module manufactured by Waveshare, based on the Bosch BME688 multi-functional environmental sensor system, enables the measurement of temperature , humidity , atmospheric pressure and the detection of gases contained in the air . Thanks to the built-in AI system, it is possible to distinguish between: volatile sulfur compounds, organic compounds, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and many other substances. It allows you to measure temperature in the range from -40°C to 85°C with an accuracy of +/- 0.5°C, humidity from 0% to 100% relative humidity with an accuracy of ±3% and pressure from 300 hPa to 1100 hPa with accuracy up to ±0.6 hPa. Communication with the microcontroller takes place via the I2C or SPI interface, and the supply voltages are 3.3 V or 5 V.

Description of the module pins

The I2C and SPI interfaces used for communication with the module are provided on the 6-pin JST connector. Additionally, the user has pins at their disposal that allow them to solder their own wires. These included:

  • CS - Chip Select SPI interface
  • ADDR/MISO - I2C address or SPI data pin
  • SCL/SCK - clock of both interfaces
  • SDA/MOSI - data pin of the I2C and SPI interfaces
  • GND - common ground of the system
  • VCC - supply voltage - 3.3 V or 5 V
Communication with the microcontroller takes place via the I2C or SPI interface.
