APDS-9960 RGB sensor and 3,3V I2C gesture detector - SparkFun SEN-12787

Description

Module that measures the light intensity of the environment, enables the detection of proximity of an object and recognize hand gestures. With this sensor, you can control the device by waving. The system operates with a voltage of 3.3 V, and communicates over I2C. Applied sensorAPDS-9960 can be found in the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, it is one of the most interesting devices on the market.

 

The sensor operates with a voltage of 3.3 V to connect the operating module to operate to 5 Volts, you should use a voltage converter.

 

The product is compatible with Arduino

Connection

The module has five holes for goldpin connectors- 2.54 mm pitch (not included in the set, sold separately). All pins are appropriately signed on the board. For facilitating the connection, the manufacturer has installed the resistors pulling up the I2C bus lines (4.7 kΩ). Elements can be disconnected by cutting the connections between pads of the I2C PV jumper.

 

Pin Description VL Additional power supply of the transmitter LED, after disconnection of the jumper PS. Tolerates the voltage from the range of 3.0 V to 4.5 V. GND The ground of the module. VCC Supply voltage from 2.4 V to 3.6 V. SDA The data line of the I2C bus - works with a voltage of 3.3 V. SCL The clock line of the I2C bus - works with a voltage of 3.3 V. INT The external interrupt, the low status indicates that the event occured.
